Pigment Production

Thirty natural, organic plant-derived pigments have been produced in the laboratory. These are used in the arts of paper marbling, illumination and miniature painting, all of which have an important place in Turkish culture. In the past, natural organic pigments were used in paintings, icons and frescoes, and are now used both in restoration and reproduction of such works.
