Dyestuff Analysis

Analysis of dyestuffs is carried out on a microscopic scale with no destruction to source material. The dyestuffs used on a historical piece can be identified using just a one-milligram sample. After the nature of the dyestuff is determined, data which give clues to its period and provenance are obtained.
