A kind of tea is brewed from the dried leaves, which is called ada çayi in Turkey and faskomelo in Greece . The name ada �ayi, however, is also used when dealing with other dried plants, such as Sideritis species. During field research in Anatolia in the 1970s, ada �ayi was identified as a dye plant by many older villagers.
